Nike Air Yeezy 2 seen at Coachella

Many people are talking about Kanye West's performance last night at Coachella. While the casual fan revels in the quality of production on the grandiose stage accompanied by West's music, sneaker heads worldwide saw a glimpse of the Air Yeezy 2's during West's set. Stylistically, it looks similar to the first Air Yeezy, most notably the strap, but the main difference is seen on the mid sole. No retail price or release date has been revealed at the moment.

Kanye West's First Beats

Former Interscope Records rapper and employee Jensen Karp stumbled upon some CD's in his garage, given to him in 2001 while serving his time on the label. The CD labels had Kanye West on them and is believed to be the first set of beats created by Mr. West. According to Karp, "I think this collection of early Kanye beats shows you where he came from, even if it doesn’t necessarily sound like ‘Kanye’ now. He kept at it and became the incredible producer he is today. I remember he even had to leave the studio sessions early, so he could make the last train back to his mom’s house. He’s come a long way, and I’m proud to have been around, even if for just a second at the start."

You can stream the music HERE.

Major Lazer Cartoon on Adult Swim

The zany artwork of Major Lazer (Diplo and Switch collab) has found it's way to television as part of Cartoon Network's extremely popular Adult Swim programming. The direction of the show, featuring it's cyborg armed protagonist, is anyone's guess. It could probably fall under the shadow and gain success just like another popular Adult Swim series, "Metalocalypse," which follows the virtual and real life band Deathlok.

Major Lazer consists of popular producers Diplo and Switch, who collaborated after working with eccentric artist M.I.A. Their music can be likened to Caribbean dance hall with electro and hip-hop influences. Adult Swim is a sub-network under Cartoon Network featuring animation revolving around adult oriented content. Programs consist of syndicated favorites like Family Guy, Futurama, and King of the Hill; Original shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Robot Chicken; And popular Japanese anime.

TOKiMONSTA - "The Word (unreleased)"

The gloomy weather forecasted here in southern California throws it's inhabitants off. Bad driving, traffic, and staying indoors is an Angeleno nightmare. Thankfully, an L.A. native who goes by TOKiMONSTA provides quality beats to get you grooving to the grey skies and wet socks. This track is unreleased. Oh yeah, I have a huge crush on this woman.

The talented Donald Glover was a guest last night on Late Night W/ Jimmy Fallon where they talked about his upcoming tour, cereal, and live Twitter feeds about kinky stuff going on in front of a Bank of America ATM machine. New Music: Musiq Soulchild - "Yes"

This is his latest track off "MusiqInTheMagiq" which drops on May 3rd. To be honest, I haven't heard from Musiq Soulchild in a while. That means we've been deprived of good R&B music. Because we all know that Taio Cruz/Iyaz/Jay Sean stuff doesn't even come close.

With Musiq Soulchild, who says "Chivalry is dead?"

Sunday, April 3

Late, but still awesome.

If you've been unplugged from the internet, then you missed out on this gem from this past Friday. It's Stephen Colbert on Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon, singing his rendition of the dreaded Rebecca Black hit song "Friday." Accompanying Colbert are the The Roots, Jimmy Fallon, American Idol Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks, and the Knicks City Dancers in tight blue jumpsuits.

How this came about, you ask? Well, Jimmy Fallon promised that if the public could raise $26,000 for  DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that gives money to schools in need, then Stephen Colbert would perform Rebecca Black's "Friday." A song so bad, in it's own ironic way, it became a hit. In less than 36 hours, the goal was reached. Never underestimate the power of American fandom.

Skip to 40 seconds to see the madness.
